The German Research Foundation (DFG) has decided to fund ten additional clinician scientist programs at medical faculties with about € 22 M for three years. Amongst the newly established programs is INDEEP – Inflammation-Driven Diseases Programme, led by EMTHERA faculty member Evelyn Ullrich, Head of Experimental Immunology at University Hospital Frankfurt. The program nicely complements the clinical education schemes available and will make a critical contribution towards interdisciplinary training in the EMTHERA research fields. It offers well-structured and integrative research and training programmes for physicians interested in pursuing a scientific career.
